In 2012 Drops of Color was formed to house creative endeavors produced by the musings of Brett Linda Stapleton. It all started with handmade greeting cards that had a whimsical image on the front and possibly a haiku inside.
A very unique way of painting evolved in her studio through study and many, many colorful messes. Since forming Drops of Color, Brett Linda Stapleton has won awards, worked on meaningful commissions, and sold paintings to people all over the world. Brett's work appears in galleries and events around Colorado.
Brett's work is featured as part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Encaustic Art just outside of Sante Fe, New Mexico.
The powerful beauty of nature directly influences many of my pieces.
In a batik style I paint with watercolor, ink and hot wax on rice paper.
Dabbling with watercolors in college led me on a journey of self study toward work in the fine arts.
